Subaru Corporation Announces Organizational Changes
(Effective April 1, 2020)
Tokyo, March 3, 2020 – Subaru Corporation announces the following organizational changes which will take effect on April 1, 2020.
(1) Strengthening Internal Controls and Governance
The Company will enhance the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management by making a change in reporting lines.
< Independence of Internal Audit Department >
The Internal Audit Department will be made independent from the Risk Management Group (overseen by the Chief Risk Management Officer (CRMO)), with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of internal controls by ensuring organizational independence of the department.
(2) Advancing Quality Reforms
The Company will advance quality reforms at all Subaru Group companies* in Japan and around the world.
< Establishment of Quality Assurance Management Office >
The Quality Assurance Management Office will be newly established under direct control of the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) to oversee group-wide* quality assurance. The roles of this office will include developing and managing the Subaru Group’s organizational structure and systems required to assure quality, maintaining their effectiveness, and continually improving them.
* Including Subaru Corporation (Headquarters, Automotive Business Unit, and Aerospace Company) and its group companies in Japan and around the world.
