Subaru Exhibition Outline of the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017

Subaru Corporation today announced that it will exhibit at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 (Press Days: October 25-26; General Admission: October 27- November 5), with the concept of “New SUBARU Story - From a company making things, to a company making people smile.” Through the vehicles on display and its entire booth, Subaru will showcase the embodiment and future vision of the Subaru distinctive value of “Enjoyment and Peace of mind”, and provide visitors with an experience that will bring smiles to their faces.
A number of concept cars will be exhibited, with Subaru VIZIV Peformance Concept*1 taking center stage. The model expresses the enjoyment of driving by adopting a sports sedan style based on Subaru’s shared design philosophy of “DYNAMIC x SOLID”, while realizing its future vision for safety with advanced driver-assist technology, centered on Subaru’s original EyeSight driver-assist system. Subaru will also premier new retail models, and exhibit the models that will race in the Super GT series.
The new retail models that will premiere at the show are the S208 (only 450 units available, sale by lottery), based on the WRX STI, and the SUBARU BRZ STI Sport (Cool Grey Khaki edition only limited to 100 units, sale by lottery). With the display of these two models, the company will promote Subaru’s distinctive “enjoyment” of driving, and continue the enhancement of the STI*2 brand outlined in the product strategy in its mid-term management vision.

◆ SUBARU VIZIV PERFORMANCE CONCEPT
Subaru VIZIV Performance Concept is a sports sedan concept model that embodies the brand’s vision for the future of making cars that deliver Enjoyment and Peace of mind to its customers. With the installation of advanced driver-assist technology, with EyeSight at its core, in anticipation of the future popularization of self-driving vehicles, in a sports sedan body that will encourage the active enjoyment of driving, it offers a worldview of driving with Enjoyment and Peace of mind that is typical of Subaru.
◆ S208
The S208, which is based on the WRX STI, is the top-end model of Subaru high-performance cars. Subaru and its motorsports subsidiary, STI, have worked together on the exclusive development of the engine and suspensions, and added exclusive fittings to both exterior and interior, with the aim of achieving the ultimate driving car that offers the best ever performance and quality in the S series. Modifications from the S207 launched in 2015 include improved engine output and acceleration performance, and a lower center of gravity with the adoption of a carbon roof, elevating Subaru’s distinctive enjoyment of driving to the extreme. The vehicle specifications and details of the sale by lottery of the 450 units available will be announced on October 25, 2017.

◆ SUBARU BRZ STI Sport
The Subaru BRZ STI Sport aims for the ultimate “Fun to Drive” and “Pure Handling Delight” by enhancing the ride quality and handling stability of the BRZ. To draw out the maximum potential of the BRZ and take its excellent handling stability and wonderful driving comfort to the next level, Subaru and its motorsports subsidiary, STI, have collaborated in its development, setting the highest grade in the Subaru BRZ catalogue. Improved body rigidity and exclusive suspension tuning have resulted in handling performance that is at the whim of the driver, and a high quality driving feel that is commensurate with the highest-grade model in the BRZ range. In addition, fine exterior and interior exclusive for this model enhance BRZ’s appeal with its excellent ride quality. A limited Subaru BRZ STI Sport edition in a special Cool Grey Khaki exterior color will be available in a limited edition of only 100 units. The vehicle specifications and details of the sale by lottery of those 100 units will be announced on October 25, 2017.

Subaru XV Fun Adventure Concept is a concept model that further emphasizes the tough and rugged design that is a feature of the Subaru XV. The full enjoyment of outdoor activities that is the Subaru XV worldview is expressed through exclusive off-road tires and a change in cladding with an even more powerful design to match. For the body color, a yellow metallic that will shine powerfully in the great outdoors has been chosen.

◆ IMPREZA FUTURE SPORT CONCEPT
Impreza Future Sport Concept is a design concept car that proposes new values in a sporty car, based on the Impreza Sport, that will encourage the driver to enjoy driving even more freely than before. The front and rear bumpers, with the low center of gravity and dynamic shape, and the sporty center muffler that exudes presence are sure to evoke the enjoyment of driving. The car’s more active personality is expressed through the yellow-pearl body color and the contrasting interior coordination.
