Subaru Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Manufacture and Delivery of Boeing 777
Tokyo, August 7, 2023 – Subaru celebrated the 30th anniversary of the manufacture and delivery of the Boeing 777 at its Aerospace Company's Utsunomiya Plant (Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture) on August 3, 2023 and at its Handa Plant (Handa City, Aichi Prefecture) on August 7, 2023.
Since our participation in Boeing's commercial aircraft production in 1973, Subaru has maintained a strong and good partnership as a key partner for over 50 years.
In particular, the Handa Plant has produced and delivered center wing boxes*1 for a total of five large aircraft models, including the Boeing 787 and Boeing 777X, since it began operations in 1993 as a dedicated center wing box production facility for the Boeing 777. The cumulative number of center wing boxes delivered has exceeded 3,000 units.
Subaru will pursue further growth by continuing to deepen its collaborative relationships with partner companies both in Tochigi Prefecture, where its Aerospace Company is based, and in the Chukyo area, centered around the city of Handa in Aichi Prefecture.
*1: A key structure of an airplane that connects the main wings to the fuselage.
