SUBARU Loves to Care®: Initiatives to Support Patients with Cancer in the U.S.

The SUBARU Group actively engages in activities that contribute to local communities. A prominent example of this is the Subaru Love Promise®, which Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) pursues alongside SUBARU retailers across the U.S. and various charitable organizations, aiming to make the world a better place. SOA aims to embody the five “Love Promise Pillars” of Earth, Care, Help, Learning, and Pets.

Below, we will take a closer look at SUBARU Loves to Care®, an initiative to support for patients facing cancer.

SOA believes that all people should have the opportunity to lead healthy lives. SOA and its retailers partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and local cancer treatment centers to send get-well cards signed by retailer staff and customers, along with warm blankets and medical kits to support patients with cancer. SUBARU Loves to Care® has become one of form of physical and mental support for patients during treatment and rehabilitation.

"I have seen firsthand how happy children undergoing treatment become when they receive an unexpected gift. We are grateful to our long-time partner SOA and its retailers for providing us with the opportunity to feel that patients are not alone,” said E. Anders Kolb, M.D., President and CEO of LLS, expressing his appreciation for the initiative.

SOA is the largest donor organization to LLS among automakers. By the end of 2024, it plans to support a total of approximately 350,000 cancer patients.

Going forward, the SUBARU Group will continue to expand its community contribution activities as it aims to be a corporate group that is sympathetic to and walks alongside society.

A SUBARU retailer in South Carolina donated 80 blankets and 10 patient care kits to patients at Gibbs Cancer Center.
A SUBARU retailer in California donated 80 blankets and 30 patient care kits to the Kaufman Cancer Center.
