Holding internal sales events for Tohoku special products in support of recovery

Since 2017, SUBARU has participated in the Festival in Support of Tohoku Reconstruction organized by the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) in support of its recovery efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake. Under the theme of direct employee action, this initiative aims to prevent memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake from fading and to dispel unfounded rumors about the disaster in Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi prefectures, which suffered extensive damage in the disaster. Every year we hold sales events for Tohoku special products and offer local menu items using ingredients from Tohoku in the company cafeterias to promote the attractiveness of these regions and increase demand for tourism.
From January to February in 2023, we held employee sales events for special products from Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi prefectures at our Head Office and Tokyo Office. This marked the resumption of in-person sales, which had been suspended for three years due to COVID-19. The event was a joyous occasion for our employees as well as related parties from other prefectures, and it resulted in record-breaking sales.
Going forward, SUBARU will continue to collaborate in the sale of special products from Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi prefectures and provide a platform for sharing information about recovery status and tourist attractions, contributing to the development of the regions.
