Due to the inventory shortage caused by the decreased production following the major earthquake in northeastern Japan, the domestic sales of passenger cars for September decreased for the third consecutive month year-on-year, and total domestic sales also decreased for the twelveth consecutive month year-on-year. |

In spite of the increased sales of Forester carrying the new generation Boxer engine in the first half of FY 2012, the total sales in Japan decreased for the first time in two years year-on-year, due to the inventory shortage caused by the decreased production following the major earthquake in northeastern Japan. |
