FHI Temporarily Changes Company Holidays after July

Tokyo, June 1, 2011 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today announced that it will temporarily change company holidays as well as summer holidays this year.

The Japanese Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (JAMA) has requested JAMA members to change normal weekly holidays from Saturdays and Sundays to Thursdays and Fridays during the summer period to aid the national effort to reduce electricity consumption since the major earthquake and its aftermath. In response to this, FHI has decided the following changes of company holidays.

1. Changes of Company Holidays

For the period July 1 to September 30, 2011, FHI will designate Thursdays and Fridays as holidays, and Saturdays and Sundays as workdays, for all FHI facilities and Subaru plants in Japan, except for Industrial Products Company facilities in Japan.

2. Changes of Summer Holidays

FHI will change summer holidays this year, considering parts supply and changes of company holidays.
