Tokyo - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. and Suzuki Motor Corporation announced an agreement to form a strategic relationship today which includes combined efforts in strengthening and expanding the already established collaborative relationship between both companies in wide areas including design, engineering and manufacturing based on the spirit of reciprocity and equality.

The agreement intends to advocate the parties' desire to mutually grow progressively and profitably in the future under the increased globalization and intensifying competition of the auto industry by complementing each other's resources, while preserving autonomy respectively.

Both companies are going to form a special committee to identify specific opportunities for collaboration to realize the mutual benefit of this strategic relationship.

In addition, Fuji and Suzuki agree to have cross equity participation in the amount of 10 billion yen for symbolizing this strategic alliance.

Fuji and Suzuki have had a friendly relationship since 1995 (Heisei 7). Suzuki is supplying Fuji with 3-speed automatic transmissions for mini-cars to apply to Subaru vehicles. Fuji is supplying Suzuki with their CVT to apply to Suzuki small cars, and small cars built by Magyar Suzuki in Hungary are supplied as OEM to Subaru sales network in Europe.
